Are your Tractors & Trailers Legal?

Regulations covering road worthiness are now enforced by VOSA, the Vehicle & Operator Services Agency.

These include:

  • brakes
  • lights
  • tyres
  • indicators
  • hitches
  • trailer connections
  • windscreen wipers etc.

We now operate a Tractor & Trailer Maintenance Centre. Tractors, trailers and cattle and livestock trailers can be inspected and if necessary repaired, all to current MOT specifications.

Inspections can be done on a 6 weekly basis covering you for the road safety aspects specified by VOSA.

You may be aware that VOSA are now checking tractors & trailers either on the public roads or in farm sales or livestock auction car parks. If they find a fault, particularly on braking systems, the vehicle will be immediately given a Prohibition Notice, which means it cannot be moved. Alternatively it may be removed to await repair possibly proving to be a very expensive outcome yourself.

To ensure your peace of mind, why not give us a ring to discuss your requirements or the VOSA regulations covering tractors and trailers.

If your tractor or trailer is used on the public highway it must be maintained to VOSA requirements to be 100% legal.
